What an incredible afternoon and evening we had for our second Demo Day this year! In February, we thought we couldn’t top up another big event with the Berlin community, but oh boy, were we wrong. For December, the mood was festive, the location excellent, the pitches top-notch and you… you were amazing.

This has been a fall to remember for our GTEC Startup Academy startups: every week was packed with learnings from the best startup and entrepreneurial mentors in Berlin. Not only did they benefit from Open Lectures and special events, but also had one on one sessions and group workshops focused on different aspects of creating and growing a company. But Demo Day is the real deal: where the whole ecosystem can check if the founders really applied all the new knowledge and made our of their ideas a solid viable project.

So on Thursday last week, we gathered at Unicorn.Berlin to see our GTEC Startup Academy companies on stage. We invited along the startups that are part of the GTEC Lab as well, so 10 founders had the opportunity to have their pitches heard.

As you can see, the audience was delighted with the impressive pitches our startups delivered. Here you have them all on stage and if you want to see their pitches, here’s the livestream recording!

In order of appearance:

Jacobo Elosua, CFO of Iris.ai

Liran Katzir, CEO of Volex Power

Stefanie Feder, CEO of ProjectRoom

Patrick Gruhn, VP of replex

Alexander Leichter, CEO of byrd

Jonathan Loesing, Co-Founder of Forexfix

Jovan Stevovic, CEO of Chino.io

Right after the pitches were delivered, our Managing Director, Education, Christoph Raethke, had an overview of our year 2017 ready and a few announcements for 2018: the second edition of the PropTech Innovation Award is accepting applications already, we won the Soft Landing European Union Project that will give German startups and mentors the opportunity to visit other international startup ecosystems in the next two years, our Business Angel Institute has already very few spots left and we prepared a gift for our GTEC community so all your events in 2018 can find the right home!

With all that, we wrapped up the stage time and we went ahead with the heavy networking over Christmas treats and Glühwein. The food was gone very fast: proof that you are a hungry crowd with all the intention to stay foolish!

We hope you had a great evening with us and that you’re back to soon to join us for all events that we’re preparing for you in 2018. Stay always in the loop subscribing to our newsletter or taking a look regularly at our GTEC event calendar!

Big hugs and love from (the Berlin part of) your GTEC Team
