Impressions of the PropTech
Innovation Summit 2019
“The PropTech Innovation Summit attracts around 400 real estate professionals to Berlin every year. Passion for new horizons and groundbreaking digital solutions meets industry experience and the responsibility for managing a wide range of property assets. This mix gives the PropTech Innovation Summit its special business character and makes it a must- attend event for anyone interested in the future of the real estate sector.”
“Innovations are often the result of interdisciplinary cooperation. When experts from different disciplines meet, prevailing thought patterns are broken up and new approaches to solutions are identified. It is precisely this lateral thinking that will drive the real estate industry forward and we will see some of these new ideas at the PropTech Innovation Award. An interdisciplinary approach is also needed to cope with future challenges. Digitisation has a technical origin, but we have to master the greatest change in the social field. The way we work will change – for each individual employee and also for companies in their collaboration.”
“I look forward to being a jury member for the PropTech Innovation Awards this year. Harnessing the creative energy of the new generation of tech savvy professionals to produce innovative built environment solutions is the key challenge put to the contestants. It is through competitions like this that people from all walks of life come together to creatively solve issues related to the growing global demand for new infrastructure, new ways of working and living, client focussed and operationally efficient real estate. That’s why RICS is supporting once again this global technology competition.”

“I’m excited to be part of the German Proptech Innovation Award Jury this year. Over the past years, we’ve seen an ever growing focus on Proptech within the real estate industry, and this is not without a reason. 90% of our time is spent inside buildings, which account for 40% of the global energy demand. Therefore it’s time to make our buildings more energy efficient, healthy and smart, with a human centered approach. Proptech companies drive the innovations which are necessary to improve our buildings, therefore I’m looking forward to meet the start-ups who will be pitching their solutions this year!”

The current lengthy paper‑ based procedure is expensive, error and manipulation‑prone. Lack of transparency in contractual performance often leads to disputes. PrepayWay’s mission is to reduce costs and disputes, increase transparency and speed of execution. We rebundle legal, financial and technology services leveraging a decentralized blockchain solution, a smart arbitration institute and smart legal contracts to offer a one stop shop for international property transactions.

The VOXELGRID system is the most cost‐effective basis for introducing BIM (Building Information Modeling) for existing buildings. Existing buildings without reliable planning documents account for around 95% of the entire global real estate portfolio. VOXELGRID is using a set of imaging methods for outside and indoor data acquisition. The data is then further processed using proprietary algorithms, including the Deep Learning method, to generate 2D and 3D building data for existing buildings.
