Under the mission of Inspire, Guide, Grow, GTEC promotes entrepreneurship on a global scale through a diverse set of offerings: from education programs and innovation awards to meetups and workshops. This is done by a team of experienced entrepreneurs:
Founding Managing Director
Since the age of 15, Benjamin has been working in the tech, renewable energy, and digital industry founding several companies and becoming an active early-stage investor in 2007. He has also advised DAX companies in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Benjamin is a lecturer and speaker at several European universities and conferences, including MIT, the Economic Forum, CDTM in Munich, Maastricht University and Zeppelin University – where he also helped to create an investment fund for university startups. Benjamin started GTEC in 2014.
Maria started her career at Daimler, but holds a Master’s in Nonprofit-Management and has long-term experience in different fields of (Social) Entrepreneurship. As the manager of the Social Impact Lab Berlin she expanded her own network within the Entrepreneurship scene and deepened her practical knowledge about running incubators. As an Entrepreneur herself, she co-founded Vehement, the world’s first brand for sustainable fight gear and ROCK YOUR LIFE! Berlin. Since 2017, Maria is the Director Operations at GTEC where she can leverage her experiences in the corporate, the startup and the academic world.
Robin has focused his career on leading and guiding companies through their challenges of change. He has worked closely together with thought leaders and management thinkers to develop state-of-the-art practices for action-orientated management. He has co-founded shapingwork, a management think tank on the future of work, and a software company as well. Furthermore, he’s a lecturer at various business schools and in 2015 he was honoured as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum. Robin leads the Education initiatives from the GTEC Campus in Frankfurt.
Manager, Innovation Programs
Manager, Social Media & Communications
Daniel leads Social Media and Communications at GTEC and is responsible for Digital Content Production and Distribution, making sure GTEC is represented the best way possible on its digital channels. Having years of experience working at social media and digital marketing agencies, as social influencer and Community Manager in the Berlin Startup Scene, Daniel brings his skills and creativity to GTEC, developing Strategies to increase GTEC’s digital reach and impact.
As GTEC’s event manager, Luuz is in charge of all GTEC’s events and easily bridges the paths between start ups, corporations and academics. With a very divers background, she started her career in the Netherlands, organising a variety of festivals and fairs & working on educational programs. From 2008 to 2015 she run her own company, a Concept Store for fashion and design, in Rotterdam,NL and Berlin, DE. Here she hosted all the events the store offered her brands, costumers, partners & press. In 2015 she changed industries and worked as the Event and Restaurant Manager for two well known Berlin restaurants.
She’s now running GTEC’s programs, communications, and Innovation Awards while building up the GTEC family around the globe.
Luuz is currently on maternity leave.
Annelie currently studies International Business Administration at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. Prior to her studies, she completed an apprenticeship as an administrative assistant and worked for almost two years as an Au Pair in New York and San Francisco to improve her English skills. She now supports the GTEC team with office management activities.
Dual Student, Events and Business Development
Tabea is a dual student of business administration with a focus on event-, trade fair-, and congress management at the hwtk in Berlin.
She will support the team in full acticity in everything she can do, but mainly in the GTEC event´s and everything related to it.
Working Student, Business Development
Lior is part of our Business development team in the Berlin hub. He is an IBA student at Viadrina university, formerly working with international music artists as an Artist promoter at Syncron-Arts . Lior is contributing his own creativity and experience to the overall business goals and sales process as well as monitoring live sales activities.

Advisory Board, Business Development
After undergoing training as a banker, Oliver completed his study in BA at Goethe University Frankfurt in connection with various internships in Toronto and New York. He started his career as an assistant to the executive board in the Dresdner Bank Investment Group. Tasks in portfolio management followed leadership roles in institutional asset management. From 2008 to 2011, Oliver was, inter alia, responsible for the institutional customer business in Germany as managing director of Cominvest and the Allianz Global Investors Group. Since 2012, Oliver acts as founder, investor, mentor and management consultant.
Advisory Board, Strategic Partnerships
After selling his communication group and creative design agency, Anders has co-founded and invested in various tech companies. Anders is an internationally renowned sparring-partner for Fortune2000 CxOs as well as for various startups. As an international keynote speaker, author, and occasional investor, the Norwegian-born also works with leading international business schools on topics of change, creativity, and leadership. He brings to GTEC his business philosophy, inspired in learnings from the past paired with the scientific knowledge and technology of tomorrow.
Prof. Dr. Julian Kawohl
Prof. Dr. Julian Kawohl is a professor of Strategic Management at HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences. Dr. Kawohl’s main objective is to demonstrate the possibilities for established companies to transform themselves and their business models into modern, innovative, and agile organizations. In order to link his research activities closely with practice, Dr. Kawohl initiated the Corporate Startup Award and acts as Creative Director and Chairman of the Jury.
Rafael Parra Mora
Rafael is a top management advisor and coach with more than 20 years of deep experience in the fields of business model innovation and business development. He worked for renowned corporates in a variety of industries, helping and guiding their teams to get the best out of them and deliver solutions that drive business growth. He is an expert in applying leading methodological practices in a joint team approach in order to unleash team power and inspiring confidence to act in an entrepreneurial way. He holds a degree in economics from the Goethe University in Frankfurt.
GTEC was founded in Berlin, Germany by Innogy, Henkel, Globumbus, Noerr, and the Sigmund Kiener Stiftung, and is headquartered in Berlin-Mitte. To expand our entrepreneurial reach, we’ve opened another campus in Frankfurt am Main. In 2018 GTEC entered into a global partnership with WeWork to bring satellites and hubs in additional locations.

Clients and Startups
In the past two years, GTEC has also been home to more than 60 startups from over 10 countries who moved to Berlin to grow their company in the Lab or refine their ideas in the Startup Academy. GTEC has also worked with founders, managers and experts from leading international corporations and institutions to learn more about the startup mentality: among them are Bosch, Postbank, Airbus, Energy Australia, Statoil, Mercedes-Benz, and the European Union.
